CS gas(o-Chlorobenzylidene malononitrile), commonly known as tear gas, is not actually a gas, it is a fine white powder that is usually dispersed from canisters using some form of propellant. Tear gas is commonly used by police and military personnel to disperse crowds of rioters. Tear gas causes severe eye irritation, an excessive production of tears, skin irritation, sneezing, coughing and difficulty breathing. Removing the "gas" from you as quickly as possible is essential in reducing the effects.
